Guided Hikes
Guided nature hikes are available through the Chalet for individuals and groups on selected trails. Chalet hosts, both experienced naturalists, will enhance your experience by identifying flora and fauna, interpreting the ecosystem and evident natural processes, and providing historical information.

Trails & Hiking

Ridges of Thompson Pass
Awesome tundra hiking above tree line for those with solid hiking boots and experience off-trail. Be prepared for mountain weather (clouds, rain). Great views of glaciers, river, and more mountains!  Alpine wildflowers.

Worthington Glacier State Park
Incredible views of a sweeping glacier alongside the highway. A one mile trail leads along the glacier's edge. If you are confident in route selection and hiking off-trail, try ridge walking.

Hike the Goat Trail
4 Miles round trip. Follows the historic Gold Rush route to the Interior. Great views of the waterfalls and river of Keystone Canyon far below.

Sheep Creek Trail
3 Miles round trip. Mountain scenery.

Squirrel Trail
A 1/2 mile nature trail leading from the Chalet. Great for bird watching and wildflowers! 

Birding
Many common nesting species of the Northern Coastal Rainforest may be identified. Bald and Golden eagles are seen almost daily on the cliffs above the Chalet. 

Rafting
Raft Keystone Canyon or take a day or multiple day trip on other regional rivers.
